Dane Alston

With over 15-years tenure in the Australian Public Service, Dr Dane Alston has extensive leadership and management experience in program delivery across a range of agencies, including the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and currently with Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC). His work has spanned creating strategic outcomes, growing capabilities and the delivery of results through transformation and innovation. In AUSTRAC, Dr Alston has led its National Security efforts supporting law enforcement, policy and intelligence outcomes for the Australian government. Currently he is AUSTRAC’s Senior Liaison Officer for Southeast Asia based in Malaysia. Prior to working for the Australian government, his academia specialisation focused on Northeast Asian history and philosophy.
